After years of toiling with the inkjets, I switched to laser about 3 years ago, and this is the printer I bought. It prints only in black and white, but I had to ask myself, when do I actually need color prints? That's right, I never do and I never did, so for a person who just needs prints, then black and white should be more than auspicious.
For instance, I like to print off webpages of information that I find useful, directions from google maps plus more directions, and loads and loads and loads of resumes. So basically I bought this printer to print a lot, and I mean a lot of prints. I put this Samsung through the ringer, let me tell you. For 3 years now, I have had not one problem, not one. This prints very very high quality black and white prints and it can do so in bursts or bits. I mean for a job that a professional mammoth printer/copier would be needed for, this has handled conciliatory perfect. I would recommend this to the college student, the mom, the kid, and the whole family. There isn't one person I couldn't recommend this too. Yes, the replaceable laser cartridge costs around 75 dollars to replace, but you knew that before you bought a laser didn't you? For a rough estimate, I printed day in and day out for about a year and half before the cartridge needed replacing.
What you will be getting:
- Compact printer
- Dust cover for the paper, for those sedentary times when you don't print.
- High Quality Black and White Prints, no color.
- Easy setup out of the box
- High amount of prints before replacing cartridge
This printer is the best I've owned for my needs, and I suggest if you want reliability and durability, buy the ML-2510. |

When I bought a new computer with Vista, I was shocked that my HP 1012 was no longer recognized. I went to the HP web site and it claimed the printer was supported. But, looking through the discussion forums, I learned that plenty of other people had the same problem as me.
Then I came across this printer. I checked Samsung's site, and there was a Vista driver. I was in business. The next day, I made the purchase.
Though the ML-2510 cost me about the same as a toner cartridge, it outperforms my old HP. Its fast, holds more paper, is super easy to use. I'd recommend this printer to anyone looking for a BW laser for home or home office. |
Updated drivers solve most poblems with Airport Express

Read several reviews on this printer. Printer had mixed reviews, depending on use. Purchased on 12/22/07, and downloaded the updated drivers, released on 11/14/07 from Samsung. Using with a MacBook Pro, OS 10.4.11 through the USB port on an Airport Express base station. Did not connect the printer direct to the computer, from the start it was run through the Airport. So far only problem was the printer needed restarted after software setup on the computer.
Win XP SP2 works direct with the printer. Will have to try the plugin for XP and see how XP handles the printer through the Airport Express
Printing is smooth and fast, once the printer warms up and cranks out the first page the rest come quickly. For only having 8megs of ram it is quite speedy. Primarily purchased to print text, will have to find out how the 1200x600 resolution works for graphics. The no-jam paper feed system has potential. Won't be able to judge it until I run a couple of more reams through the printer.
Overall a cheap solid printing machine. As long as it holds up and Samsung keeps the drivers current, promises to be a worthwhile printer. |
Absolutely a great unit!

| The price is right; there are compatible cartridges available; Samsung telephone support is first-rate. The only minor problem is that as they keep keeping money out of it, the features from one generation to another may disappear. (For instance, I can't figure out how to print envelopes with this one, whereas it was easy with the preceding generation; the paper tray doesn't slide out, as it used to, so it isn't as easy to load the paper.) However, the price, reliability, quick warmup time, and print quality, just can't be beat. |
Excellent Decision

I was looking to buy a printer for college and looked at my needs and decided a black and white laser printer was the way to go. Part of it is the cost of ink, I am a heavy printer and toner seems to be more economical. 2000+ pages I am buying my first toner refill.
I have had many problems with ink jet printers in the past most of the problems relating to consistency. This printer is a little workhorse, it just works. Have only had 1 paper jam and that was my fault the paper was already torn and crumpled before printing. Had no problems with it ever picking up the paper, which I have had to deal with numerous times with past printers.
The print speed is amazing and gets jobs done VERY fast.
The toner is pretty expensive, but what toner isn't? It's $75 here on Amazon for a refill, almost the cost of a new printer. Hopefully it has more toner than the one it comes with.
This printer does not have a much larger footprint than a standard ink-jet printer, it is a bit tall but is likely narrower.
Actual dimensions:
Height = 9.5 inches
Width = 13.5 inches
Depth = 11.5 inches
UPDATE: 500 pages later the toner has not run out yet, I have the spare packed away still. It gives the message that the toner is low (a light on the top of the printer, but does not slow down the printing process, and doesn't have intrusive pop-ups like some printers will give you when the ink is low. |
